Intentional Networking: Helping Clients Consider the Connection

Intentional is defined as a deliberate action, performed with a goal in mind. Networking is often broadly defined, although it could be stated simply as building connections. The career development professional is tasked with conveying to the client the value of deliberately building connections for the purpose of obtaining career direction and growth. While these words sound clear and easy, the action must take into account human motivations, interpersonal relations, artificial intelligence, and much more. A competent career development professional cannot ignore the emphasis on either the word intentional or networking.
